I completed my B.Tech in civil stream in 2016. Can I apply for AP TET?

To recruit government teachers from classes I to VIII the Andhra Pradesh government conducts the TET exam. AP TET has two papers, Paper-I is for class I to V and Paper-II is for class VI to VIII. The education qualification for both papers is different.

As a B.Tech pass out you are not able to apply for the AP TET exam. You need to do an additional course like B.Ed. after the Bachelors. The full details about the educational qualification required for AP TET are given below.

Educational Qualification for AP TET

For Class I-V

• Senior Secondary or it's equivalent with at least 45% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC/ Physically disable students, the minimum marks shall be 40%) and pass in 2-year Diploma of Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education. (B.El.Ed.) / 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates, who have passed or apply to D.El.Ed / D.Ed., course before the guidelines issued.

OR

• Senior Secondary or it's equivalent with at least 50% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC/ Physically disable students, the minimum marks shall be 45%) & pass in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2-year Diploma in Special Education

For Class VI-VIII

• 4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed., course with at least 50% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC/ Physically disable students, the minimum marks shall be 45%)

OR

• B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com., with at least 50% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC Physically disable students, the minimum marks shall be 45%) & pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / B.Ed in Special Education

OR

• B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com., with at least 50% marks (For SC/ ST/ BC/ Physically disabled students, the minimum marks shall be 40%) & pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course/ B.Ed -Special Education in case of the candidates, who have passed or take admission in B.Ed., before the guidelines

OR

• Degree with concerned language as one of the Optional Subjects or Bachelor of Oriental Language or Graduation in Literature or Post Graduation in Language concerned & Language Pandit Training Certificate / B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers
