Are diploma/polytechnic mechanical students eligible for TSPSC A.E posts? If yes, how many posts will be allotted? When can we expect notification in 2022?


Yes, diploma/polytechnic mechanical students are eligible for some of the TSPSC A.E posts. Recently TSPSC issued notification for various posts of Assistant Engineer, Municipal Assistant Engineer & Technical Officer in various Engineering Services. Interested candidates can apply online for the exam from dated 28-09-2022 to 21-10-2022. There are a total of 833 posts issued by TSPSC. Out of these, 396 posts are for Assistant engineers, 29 for Municipal Assistant Engineer, 09 for Technical Officer & 399 for Junior Technical posts.

There is no specific number of posts that have been allotted for diploma mechanical students. The selection of the candidates will be done based on their performance in the written examination and interview. Candidates can visit the official website of TSPSC for more details about the exam. The notification for the TSPSC A.E exam will be released soon.

The candidates who are selected as Assistant engineers, Municipal Assistant Engineer or Technical Officer will be appointed to various departments such as Public Health & Municipal Engineering Department, Roads & Buildings Department, Rural Water Supply & Sanitation Department, Irrigation & CAD Department, Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO), Telangana State Transmission Corporation Limited (TSTRANSCO) and Telangana State New Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TSNREDCO).

The selection process for TSPSC AE exam:

The selection of the candidates for the TSPSC AE Exam will be done based on their performance in written examination and interview. The written examination will be conducted in two parts, Part I and Part II. Part I will be common to all candidates and will be objective type. It will consist of questions from General Studies & Mental Ability. Part II will be specific to the branch of engineering (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical) and will consist of objective-type questions from Engineering.
