Are Telangana candidates eligible for the AP TET exam?

I am from Telangana, am I eligible for AP TET exam?


Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted for the candidates who aspire to become a teacher. The candidates must acquire the minimum educational qualification required to make themselves eligible for the exam and must qualify for the TET exam, to become a government teacher.

The eligibility criteria for the AP TET exam vary from post to post. Students must check the post-wise details of eligibility criteria at the official website. And for Telangana people, the good news is they are eligible for the AP TET exam.

AP TET Selection Process

The applicants will be selected after the result of the following tests:

  • Written Examination
  • Personal Interview

In the written exam, there are two papers, Paper-I for classes I to V and Paper-II for classes VI to VIII. The syllabus for both exams is as follows:

Paper-I

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language-I
  • Language-II (English)
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Sciences

Paper-II

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language-I
  • Language-II (English)
  • Mathematics
  • Science Teacher
  • Social Studies / Social Science


AP TET Exam Age Limit

  • The minimum age limit for the exam is 18 years
  • The maximum age limit for the exam is 40 years

AP TET Eligibility Criteria (Class I to V)

  • Applicants must have pass 12th class or equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks or pursuing the final year of a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education
  • Applicants must have passed in Intermediate or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks or pursuing final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education
  • Applicants must have passed 12th with a minimum of 50% marks or pursuing a final year Diploma in Education.

(For ST/SC/BC/PDC applicants there is a relaxation of 5% marks)

AP TET Eligibility Criteria (Class VI to VIII)

  • B.A/B.Sc./B.Com., with a minimum of 50% marks (For ST/SC/BC/PDC applicants the minimum marks shall be 45%) and pass in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) course/ Bachelor of Education ( Special Education)
  • 4-year B.A.Ed/B.SC.Ed., with a minimum of 50% marks (For ST/SC/BC/PDC applicants the minimum marks shall be 45%)

AP TET Eligibility Criteria for Hindi Pandit

Graduation with Hindi as the optional subject of Oriental Language Hindi or M.A Hindi pass or pursuing Hindi Pandit Training Certificate.

AP TET Eligibility Criteria for Telugu Pandit

B.A in Telugu Literature or B.An in Oriental Language-Telugu or graduation with Telugu as optional subject or M.A pass or pursuing Telugu Pandit Training Certificate.

AP TET Eligibility Criteria for Urdu Pandit

B.An or B.An oriental language Urdu or Graduate degree with Urdu as the optional subject or M.A pass or pursuing Urdu pandit training certificate.
