Are there prelims and a Mains for APPSC Group 2?

Yes, there are prelims and a Mains for APPSC Group-2. The APPSC Group 2 exam is conducted in three stages.

1) Preliminary Examination:

This Examination is a qualifying test and candidates have to score minimum cut off marks which depends on the number of vacancies in Group II posts. The cutoffs for this Exam will be notified by APPSC before 2 months of the examination date. This Exam consists of only Objective type questions with a single correct answer out of 4 options given. The duration of the entire exam is 150 Minutes. There are 150 Questions carrying 125 marks in all & Negative marking will also be there. No marks or negative marks would be awarded for unattempted question(s).

Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in each subject will be allowed to take the main examination.

2) Main Examination:

The Main Examination consists of Objective type questions. The duration of this Exam is 150 Minutes and the total number of marks is 150.

As per G.O. Ms. No.235 Finance (HR-I, Plg & Policy) Dept., Dt.06/12/2016, each wrong answer will be penalized with 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question.

Computer Proficiency Test (Qualifying Test) for eligible candidates in the ratio of 1:2 with reference to a total number of vacancies notified. (Please refer to Note 1 under Para-3).

3) Interview & Document Verification:

The last phase of APPSC Group 2 is an interview & document verification.

Candidates are required to pass all 3 stages to finally be recruited as a Group 2 Officer in the State.
