As a 2018 pass out am I eligible to apply for Telangana SI post?


The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board is for the recruitment of candidates for Sub Inspector, Constables, or other police posts in the state. The candidates can apply online at their official website for any of these posts. To apply for the SI post candidate must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. So, if you are a graduate pass out in 2018 then you can apply for the SI post. The age limit for this post is 21-25 years; age relaxation is available for certain categories. The other important details about this exam are given below;

Telangana Sub Inspector Selection Procedure

There are four stages of selection for SI post:

  • Preliminary Written Exam: This exam has two sections, Arithmetic Ability & Reasoning, and General Studies. Both sections have 100 questions (Objective Type) and one mark for each question. The total time available is 3 hours.
  • Physical Measurement Test: For male candidates, the height must not be less than 167.6 cm and the chest must not be less than 86.3 cm (5 cm expansion). For female candidates height must not be less than 152.5 cm.
For ST candidates and tribes of Khammam, Mahaboob Nagar, Adilabad, and Warangal districts, the height of male candidates must not be less than 160 cm and the chest must not be less than 80 cm (3 cm expansion). For female candidates height must not be less than 150 cm.
  • Physically Efficiency Test: Into this students need to clear some events. The total mark for this section is 125. The details are given below;
Male Candidates (General Category)
  1. 100 Meter Race – 15 seconds
  2. 800 Meter Race – 170 seconds
  3. Long Jump – 3.80 meters
  4. High Jump – 1.20 meters
  5. Shot Put (7.26 KG) – 5.60 meters
Male Candidates (Ex-Servicemen)
  1. 100 Meter Race – 16.5 seconds
  2. 800 Meter Race – 200 seconds
  3. Long Jump – 3.65 meters
  4. High Jump – 1.05 meters
  5. Shot Put (7.26 KG) – 5.60 meters
Female Candidates
  1. 100 Meter Race – 20 seconds
  2. Long Jump – 2.50 meters
  3. Shot Put (4.00 KG) – 3.75 meters
  • Final Written Test: This is the final stage of selection. It has four sections, two of them have objectives and the other two have descriptive-type questions. The subjects under this section are Arithmetic Ability & Reasoning, General Studies, English, and Telugu/Urdu. The time available for each section is 3 hours.
