Is 21 a mandatory age for TS SI eligibility?


No, as per the 2022 recruitment notification, the age limit for TS SI is set at 18-27 years. Candidates who meet the age criteria as on 1st July 2022 (i.e. born not earlier than 2nd July 1995 and not later than 1st July 2003) will be eligible to apply for the post of TS SI. There is age limit relaxation for candidates belonging to certain reserved categories like SC/ST.

The educational qualification required for TS SI is graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.

There is no minimum percentage required to be eligible to apply for this post. However, candidates must have studied Telugu as one of the subjects in either SSC or Intermediate level or must have studied it as a medium of examination in any degree course.

Preparation Tips For TS SI Exam

  • Candidates must go through the syllabus and exam pattern of TS SI before starting their preparation. This will give them a clear understanding of the topics that need to be covered and the weightage given to each section in the exam.
  • Candidates should make use of study material like books, previous year’s papers, mock tests, etc. while preparing for the exam. There are many good books available in the market which cover the entire syllabus of TS SI. You can also enroll in an online course for better preparation.
  • Candidates must solve as many practice questions as possible to familiarize themselves with the type of questions asked in the exam. This will also help them in time management on the day of the exam.
  • Candidates must make sure to take care of their health and fitness while preparing for the exam as it is a very demanding job. They should eat healthily and sleep well to avoid any last-minute health issues. The written examination for TS SI will be conducted in three papers.
  • Candidates can join online courses for the preparation of the Telangana state Sub Inspector exam. The online courses by Achievers Academy are very helpful, candidates must get through them.

Paper I will be of objective type and will be common for all candidates. It will consist of questions from General Studies, Arithmetic, and Test of Reasoning/ Mental Ability. Paper II will be of descriptive type and will consist of an English Language paper. Candidates who qualify in Paper I will only be eligible to appear for Paper II.

Paper III will be of objective type and will consist of questions from the concerned subject chosen by the candidate at the time of filling the application form. 

The duration of each paper will be 2 hours and the total marks for the exam will be 400. Candidates will have to secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper to qualify for the next stage of selection.

The final selection of candidates will be done based on their performance in the written examination, interview, and medical examination. Candidates who clear all these stages will be appointed as TS SI.
