Can an out-of-state candidate appear in the TSPSC Group 1 exam?

Yes, a student from another state is eligible to appear in TSPSC Group 1 exam. He or she can appear under Open Category (OC). There is no reservation for outer state students in Telangana.

The age limit for general category candidates, the minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 34 years. The age relaxation for OBC and SC - 5 years, for physically handicapped students - 10 years, for Ex-servicemen – 3 years, for NCC instructors – 3 years, for Telangana Government Employees- 5 years and for Retrenched temporary employees – 3 years (minimum 6 months service). The applicants get selected after three stages of the selection process: Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination & Personal Interview.

The Preliminary exam has one test only, while Mains has seven exams in total. The preliminary exam is an objective type exam and of two and half hours, while the mains exam is a descriptive type exam and each exam is of three hours.

After clearing all these stages students need to appear for the personal interview. PI is of 100 marks.
