Andhra Pradesh government conducts APPSC Group 2 exam every year to recruit candidates for various executive and non-executive posts. The posts that come under APPSC Group 2 are, Deputy Tahsildar, Assistant Labour Officer, Extension Officer, Municipal Commissioner Grade-III, Senior Auditor, Senior Accountant, Junior Accountant, and many more.

Selection Process of APPSC Group 2

It follows an Interview round too. Candidates must clear the Pre and main exams before appearing in a personal interview. The selection criteria involve the following stages:

· Preliminary Exam

· Mains Exam

· Personal Interview

· Computer Proficiency Test

· Document Verification

· Physical Standard Test

After the final physical standard test, a candidate can become an APPSC Group 2 officer. It is a very competitive exam and candidates need to do a lot of hard work to achieve their goals.

APPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates need to read the eligibility criteria very carefully before filling the form.

Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 18 years and the Maximum age limit is 42 years. There is relaxation available for various categories, OBC – 3 years, SC/ST – 5 years, PWD candidates – 10 years, AP State Government employees (except APSRTC, APSEB, Municipalities, and Corporation) – 5 years, Ex-servicemen – 3 years, candidates work as N.C.C instructors – 3 years and Temporary employees in the state census department with minimum service of 6 months – 3 years.

Educational Qualification: The applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university for most of the posts. More educational details can be checked while the notification comes.

Physical Standards

For Men

· Minimum height for men – 165 cm

· Chest 81 cm with 5 cm expansion

For women

· Minimum Height – 152.5 cm

· Minimum Weight – 45.5 Kgs

Exam Pattern of APPSC Group 2 Jobs

Preliminary Exam: It has one paper which is furthur divided into five sections and the total time available is 150 minutes to attempt 150 marks.

Paper - General Studies and Mental Ability

  • Section I – Indian History
  • Section II – Geography
  • Section III - Indian Society
  • Section IV - Current Affairs
  • Section V - Mental Ability

Mains Examination: It contains 2 papers and each paper is 150 marks, candidates get 150 minutes for each paper.

· Paper 1

Section A - Social and Cultural History of Andhra Pradesh

Section B - Indian Constitution

· Paper 2 

Section A - Indian and AP Economy

Section B - Science and Technology
