NRA CET Key Points

  • After the CET score, the second and third stage examinations - i.e. oral and other examinations will be conducted by the respective recruiting institutes.

NRA Formation

★ Its members include representatives from a number of recruiting organizations, including SSC, RRB, and IBSP.

★ 1517.57 crore has been allotted to NRA for the next three years.


What is the use of NRA CET?

There will be a joint Common Entrance Test (CET) for non-gazetted posts in the Central Government and lower posts in public sector banks. The Union Cabinet has decided to set up a National Recruitment Agency (NRA) to manage this.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced that the NRA will be set up during the budget presented on February 1 this year. The Cabinet, which met on Wednesday, discussed the modalities of the NRA and approved it. Over the years, about 20 bodies have made these appointments. All will be closed now. The test will be conducted for all Non-gazetted and Non-technical jobs under Group-B and Group-B at the same level.

Prime Minister Modi described the establishment of NRA as a boon to the unemployed youth of the country. "Billions of people will benefit from the NRA. Many tests for jobs are not written. It saves money, time and resources. It will also increase transparency in appointments, ”he tweeted. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar and Jitendra Singh described the Cabinet meeting as "revolutionary".
