What are the phases in RRB NTPC?

RRB NTPC exam is conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board to recruit candidates for various posts in Indian Railways. The posts candidates can apply for include clerk, station master, ticket collector, etc. The selection process for RRB NTPC exam consists of following stages:

A. RRB NTPC Computer Based Test-I (CBT-I): This section has 100 questions in total & each question carries one mark. Time available for this section is 90 minutes, time relaxation is available for PWD candidates. There is negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer. The subjects under this section and there marking scheme is given below:

• General Awareness - 40 marks
• Mathematics - 30 marks
• General Intelligence & Reasoning - 30 marks

B. RRB NTPC Computer Based Test-II (CBT-II): In this section there is 120 question in total & of 120 marks. The time available is 90 minutes & time relaxation for PWD candidates. Also in this section the negative marking is same as in CBT-I. The sections under this & their marks distribution is given below:

• General Awareness - 50 marks
• Mathematics - 35 marks
• General Intelligence & Reasoning - 35 marks

C. Typing Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test: The candidates who applied for the posts of junior accountant, assistant accounts officer, senior clerk cum typist, stenographer & Junior Time Keeper have to take Typing Skill Test whereas the candidates who applied for the posts of assistant station master, traffic assistant, commercial apprentice & enquiry cum reservation clerk have to take Computer Proficiency Test.

D. Document Verification: The candidates who will qualify the above mentioned tests will be called for document verification. The documents to be produced at the time of document verification are educational qualification certificates, community certificate, birth certificate, photo identity proof etc.

E. Medical Examination: The candidates who will qualify the document verification will have to go through a medical examination. The candidates who are found medically fit will be appointed to the post they have applied for.
