The APPSC Group 3 exam is held in two stages, the exam pattern for both the exam is as follows.

• Preliminary Exam: It has one paper which has two sections, section-I is of General Studies & Mental Ability and section-II is of Rural Development and Problems of Rural Areas. Both sections carry 75 marks each, and the exam is 150 marks in total. Each question carries 1 mark and there is a negative marking of 1/3 marks for every wrong answer.
• Main Exam: It consists of two papers and each exam carries 150 marks. Paper-I is about General Studies and Mental Ability and Paper-II are about Rural Development and Problems in Rural Areas. The exam is 300 marks in total and each question is 1 mark. There is a negative marking of 1/3 marks for every wrong answer.

APPSC Group 3 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The candidates need to be between the ages of 18 – 42 years to apply for Group-3 posts. There is relaxation available as per government norms, the upper age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC is 5 years and for PWD candidates it is 10 years.

Candidates must complete a degree from a recognized university or institute, to apply for Group-3 posts.
