Eligibility Criteria for APPSC Group 1

Age Limit

As your age is 34 but still you can apply for Group 1 posts. Except for some posts, you can apply for most of the posts. The minimum and maximum age limits for Group 1 posts are given below.

  • The Minimum Age Limit is 18 years
  • The Maximum Age Limit is 42 years

But for some posts age limit vary. The details regarding this are given below:

  • For Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil) and Deputy Superintendent of Jails (Men) age limit vary from 21 – 28 years
  • For District Fire Officer age limit vary from 21 – 26 years
  • For Assistant Prohibition & Excise Superintendent the age limit vary from 18 – 26 years

There is age relaxation available for certain categories available. The info about age relaxation is given below:

  • For SC, ST & OBC – 5 years
  • For Physically Handicapped Persona – 10 years
  • For temporary employees in the state census department with a minimum of 6 months of service – 3 years
  • Ex-Service Men – 3 years & length of service rendered in the armed forces
  • N.C.C instructors – 3 years & length of service rendered in the N.C.C
  • A.P State Government Employees (except employees of APSEB, Municipalities, APSRTC, etc.) – 5 years

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification required for APPSC Group-1 posts is a Bachelor’s Degree in the required subject from a UGC-recognized university. The educational qualification for some of the posts is given below:

  • For District Fire Officer candidates must have a degree in Engineering (Fire), in case there is no applicant with this degree then the candidate with any degree will be considered
  • For Assistant Treasury Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer the applicant must have a degree in Economics, Mathematics or Commerce with at least second division or a Chartered Accountant of U.K or India or an incorporated Accountant (London)
  • For District Social Welfare Officer the candidates with a degree in Sociology or Social work will be preferred first.
