What is the exam pattern of APPSC AEE?


The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) recruits Assistant Executive Engineers (AEE) for various departments in the state. The APPSC AEE exam is conducted in two stages: the preliminary exam and the main exam. The candidates who clear the stages will be called for an interview. The detailed selection process is given below:

APPSC AEE Preliminary Exam:

This section has two papers, Part A is a paper on General Studies & Mental Ability and Part B is a paper on the Engineering field of specialization. The questions in the preliminary exams are objective-type multiple-choice questions. Part A has 50 questions for 50 marks and Part B has 100 questions for 100 marks. The total time available for both sections is 150 minutes.

APPSC AEE Main Exam:

This section of the exam has 3 papers, Paper-I is on General Studies and Paper-II & Paper-III are about the concerned subject. In the main exam, all three papers have 150 questions and are of 150 marks. So, the main exam has 450 questions and is of 450 marks.

The candidates who clear both the preliminary and the main exam will then be called for an interview.

The APPSC AEE exam is focused on three streams of engineering, Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering. The candidates need to be well-prepared for the exam.   • Civil Engineering: Structural Engineering, Construction Technology & Management, Environmental Engineering & Management, Construction Planning & Management, Hydraulic & Water Resources, etc.
  • Electrical Engineering: Electrical Circuits & Transmission System, Control Systems, Power system generation & protection, Basic Electrical Engineering, Transformers, DC generators & Motors, etc.
