What is TSPSC?

TSPSC stands for Telangana State Public Service Commission, Hyderabad. It is an agency of the Government of Telangana which recruits candidates into various State government services. It was formed in 2014 after Telangana state was created. The main job of TSPSC is to conduct various examinations for recruiting people into State Public Services. The main recruitment activity of TSPSC is to recruit candidates into Group-1 & Group-2 services, which includes both technical and non-technical posts. It also recruits personnel for other departments like the Water Resources Department.

TSPSC conducts a written examination for Group I & II service recruitment process. After that, there are personal interviews conducted by the board members of TSPSC. Along with this, the board uses some other parameters to select worthy candidates in various services.

Job notification will be released by the Board after every year or before that according to requirement. Job notification release date can be checked on the official website of Telangana State Public Service Commission at tspsc.gov.in.

There are various groups in TSPSC:

1) Group I: This group includes all the important services of the Government of Telangana. Recruitment is done through a rigorous process that includes an examination and interview. Vacancies in this group are very few and highly sought after.

Some posts that come under TSPSC Group 1 are:

  • Deputy Collector (Civil Services, Executive Branch)
  • Deputy Superintendent of Police- Category II (Police Service)
  • Commercial Tax Officer.
  • District Panchayat Officer (Panchayat Services)
  • District Registrars.
  • Divisional Fire Officer.

2) Group II: This group comprises departments like Revenue, Police, Home Guard, etc. Recruitment is done through a competitive examination.

  • Deputy Tahsildar in the Land Administration.
  • Assistant Registrar in the Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
  • Executive Officer Grade-I in the Endowments department.
  • Assistant Labour Officer in Commissioner of Labour Department.
  • ACTO-Assistant Commercial Tax Officer (Commercial Tax Sub-Service)

3) Group III: This group includes departments like Health, Law, Agriculture, etc. Recruitment is done through a competitive examination or on the basis of merit marks in the qualifying examination.

Some posts that come under TSPSC Group 3 are:

  • Typist Cum Assistant (Secretariat Subdivisions)
  • Typist Cum Assistant (Law department – Secretariat)
  • Assistant cum Typist (HOD office)
  • Junior Assistant (HOD office)
  • ASO (Law department Secretariat Subdivisions)
  • Junior Accountant (Government life Insurance Subdivisions)

4) Group IV: This group includes departments like Panchayat Raj, Water Resources, Minorities Welfare, etc. Recruitment is done either through a competitive examination or on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

  • Junior Assistant in Commercial Tax Department
  • Junior Steno in I&CAD
  • Typist in Disaster Response and Fire Services
