When will APPSC release Group 1 notification?


The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission is the government body in Andhra Pradesh that is responsible for the recruitment of candidates for various civil service jobs. The APPSC Group 1 is the highly ranked post in the state. The APPSC had released a notification in January for 169 posts of Regional Transport Notification, Deputy Collector, and few more posts. The candidates can expect a new Group 1 notification soon. To check the status of new notification candidates must visit the official APPSC website regularly. Before applying for Group1 posts candidates must go through the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria for APPSC Group 1 posts

The applicant must be a citizen of India and other important qualifications about the exam are as follows:

Age Limit

The minimum and maximum age limits for Group1 posts vary from 18 to 42 years. But for posts like District Fire Officer age limit is 21 to 26 years, Deputy Superintendent of Police age limit is 21 to 28 years, Deputy Superintendent of Jails (Men) age limit is 18 to 28 years and for Assistant Prohibition & Excise Superintendent age limit is 18 to 26 years.

Age relaxation is available for certain categories as per government rules. The candidates can find this while applying.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification required for the APPSC Group 1 posts is a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.

Physical Requirements

For some posts, there are some physical standards set by the government. The applicant must fulfill the required standards. The physical requirements as per posts are as follows:

  • For Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil), Deputy Superintendent of Jails (Men), and District Fire officer the candidates must have 86.3 cm chest on full expansion and minimum expansion should be 5 cm, minimum height should be 167.6 cm. For S.T candidate’s chest must be 83.8 cm on full expansion and expansion should be 5 cm, minimum height should be 164 cm.
  • For Deputy Superintended of Police (women) the chest must be 86.3 cm on full expansion and expansion must 5 cm. The minimum weight should be 45.5 kg and the minimum height should be 152.5 cm.
  • For Assistant Prohibition & Excise Superintendent chest must be 86 cm on full expansion and the minimum expansion should be 5 cm. the minimum height must be 165 cm.

The applicants can check other details while filling up the form. The applicants must go through two written exams and a personal interview to get selected for Group 1 posts.
